Founder of Together

«Together was not born from a strategy. It grew out of the way my family has always lived. My father has devoted his entire life to serving his community — through his parish, through presence, through the quiet, unwavering act of being there when people have nowhere else to turn. My mother has stood beside me from the very beginning — at every event, every visit, every difficult moment and decision that this work has required. I did not set out to establish a charity. I simply continued what had already been set in motion, long before it was ever given a name.

After many years working with people living in complex and challenging circumstances, I arrived at a clear realisation: to be truly effective, an organisation must make a deliberate choice. Our choice was education — not because other needs are less important, but because education cannot be taken away or destroyed. In the first months of the full-scale invasion, millions of Ukrainians left their homes carrying almost nothing — and yet what they carried held immeasurable value: knowledge, skills, memory, and the will to move forward.

We work with children in Ukraine whose childhoods have been altered by war. They have lost uninterrupted access to education. But they have not lost their potential. It is this inner resource that we protect, strengthen, and build upon. This is a family endeavour, in the truest sense of the word. And it always has been.»

For almost 20 years, we have been seeking the most effective ways to serve our community.

Since 2009, we have worked with communities — not as a project, but as a natural extension of a family’s long-standing commitment to service. From the outset, Together has operated across some of the most overlooked communities in Ukraine: shelters for women and children escaping domestic violence; inclusive learning spaces for children with cerebral palsy; outreach to people experiencing homelessness; and support for those displaced by conflict long before the world was paying attention.

This early, varied work was not a detour. It was an education in itself — an experience that, over time, clarified where long-term change truly begins. The answer, consistently, was education: the one resource that compounds, that travels, that endures beyond any single intervention.

Today, Together operates three interconnected programmes — Education & Skills, Safe Spaces & Protection, and Psychosocial Support — designed to function as a system rather than a collection of separate interventions.

A child cannot learn if they do not feel safe. They cannot internalise safety if their mind remains in survival mode. We address all three, because all three are required.

What we do

Three programmes. One mission.

01

Education & Skills

We provide structured educational pathways for children and young people whose schooling has been disrupted by displacement, bombardment, or family instability. This includes free English language classes, IT and digital literacy programmes, preparation for international university study, mentorship from working professionals, and access to tailored career guidance.

Our partnerships with Oxford-based educational programmes offer a select number of Ukrainian students each year a transformative exposure to international academic life. We are building the infrastructure that makes such opportunities systematic rather than exceptional.

02

Safe Spaces & Protection

Our Safe House — Bezpechnyi Dim — provides emergency and transitional shelter for mothers and children escaping violence. It is not simply accommodation; it is a structured environment for recovery, where psychological support, legal guidance, and access to education are integrated from the outset.

We are scaling this model, while embedding smaller Safe Corners within schools and community libraries in Ukraine.

03

Psychosocial Support

Our programme, The Path to Oneself, provides individual and group psychological support for children, teenagers, and adults. Trained psychologists lead sessions designed specifically for young people experiencing anxiety, grief, and loss of identity in the aftermath of war.

We also deliver training for parents and teachers — equipping the adults closest to children with the language and tools required to hold these conversations with care, and without causing further harm.

Invest in Ukraine's new generation

We connect those who have experience with those who have a dream. Your involvement can take many forms — each one matters.
