Psychological Support for People Displaced by War

This project provides professional psychological support for people who have been forced to leave their homes due to the war and are now living in Lviv. It is delivered under a formal memorandum with Lviv City Council.

The initiative includes regular group therapy sessions, where participants work through experiences of loss, trauma, stress, anxiety, and the challenges of adapting to a new life. The group format creates a safe environment to process difficult emotions, build peer support, and gradually restore a sense of stability and control.

As of today, more than 170,000 displaced people are officially registered in Lviv, with the total number exceeding 220,000. In this context, access to consistent psychological support is critically important.

All sessions are led by qualified psychologists and psychotherapists of Together Empowerment & Rehabilitation Center with expertise in trauma and crisis care. The work focuses on processing lived experiences, rebuilding internal resources, and providing support during acute emotional distress.

As part of the project, more than 400 individual consultations and group sessions have already been delivered, reaching over 1,300 people. The total number of therapeutic hours exceeds 10,000 — and the work continues.

The project provides free psychological support, both online and in person, for Ukrainians affected by the war. A particular focus is placed on working with children and creating safe spaces where emotions can be processed and inner balance restored.

This is an example of structured, long-term, trauma-informed support that helps people adapt to new life conditions and regain a sense of stability and belonging.
